Jim Mihal, founder, started his career as an automotive technician with BMW in 1982.
During his tenure at BMW and prior to retiring as a BMW Factory Trained Master Technician in 1997, he built the boutique product manufacturing firm, "JT-Designs", to serve commercial, military, and aerospace industries.
In 2022, one quarter century after

During his tenure at BMW and prior to retiring as a BMW Factory Trained Master Technician in 1997, he built the boutique product manufacturing firm, "JT-Designs", to serve commercial, military, and aerospace industries.
In 2022, one quarter century after developing his first products for BMW, Jim has focused his attention solely on enhancing BMW's legendary performance. With 25 years of engineering and manufacturing experience and his passionate roots from his early days with BMW, JTD Performance was created.

In 1997, JT-Designs created a serviceable rear shock mount that is more durable than OE and still available in its original form. These mounts carry a lifetime warranty.... some 25 years later our original design is still in production.
Starting with the E36 M3, a wide range of products were created to solve a host of challenges which enthusiasts experienced... from the "Aluminum Underpanel" which replaced the OE plastic one which is prone to failure, to non-hinged pre-loadable front and rear strut tower braces that reduce chassis flex substantially. An indestructible transmission mount that was created to eliminate the 5-2 over rev downshift, an oil distribution block that allowed manual gauge adaption, and much more over!
